In round/map 2 of a death match the game was exited to desktop due to a texture memory deficiency.
Relaunching hawken was not possible.
confirming process list was clear, hawken launcher would not relaunch.
Post reboot until kaspersky protection was completely disabled did the launcher permit the game to get to the syncing account phase.

Video card in use is a GTX 8800 Alpha Dog, 512 MB memory.

It's an errore reguarding Antivirus or firewall.
Try to switch off the protection, or insert hawken trought trusted application.

Happen to me too, but only if the latest update! Very annoying...
