Is there a console command or keystroke combo that will bring up the fps during gameplay.

I want to see what my fps is on ultra in a full game versus on medium

My eye isn't noticing a drop in fps from medium to ultra

My specs for my rig are just ok, so I have a hard time believing I have acceptable fps in a full game on ultra.

Current specs are
AMD X945 Quad Core overclocked a bit
Geforce GTX 250 Nvidia reference card -overclocked quite a lot
4GB Ram

Are those specs good enough to run on ultra with decent fps_

1.) press T
2.) delete everything on the line at the bottom (usually just "Say ")
3.) type in "stat fps" and hit return/enter
4.) ...
5.) Profit!

Open up the all chat and clear it just press backspace till its empty and type stat fps. there is no /  or anything just type exactly as here in quotations "stat fps". The chat box is a console without the ability to expand.

Damn i got sniped.

Just open up the console and type type the "stat fps"

Works quicker and easier.

Console is disabled in CB3. But the text box is a console with the extended area disabled.

AFAIK, the console button was remapped to [ {, formerly ` ~. The Say and Team Say buttons just pull up the console with a pre-entered function. Most of the console features were dropped for CBE3.

Use fraps/MSI Afterburner_ lol. Its atleast a definitive way of guaranteeing a FPS overlay

No need. Hit F5 to open the console (it used to be ~ but various international keyboard layouts use that button for important characters like @). The EN-US keyboard's [ key is a quick console prompt without opening up the whole console window (it's basically say/teamsay without the pre-filled-in say/teamsay command).

Yeah, its fair enough, I use both cause I record with fraps, and I use afterburner for the time and GPU overlays ... playclaw time_
