tomshardware.com said:

News of the new SDK follows recent reports that Microsoft had no plans to release a toolkit for Kinect development on the PC. However the sudden about-face may be due to the growing homebrew community that has found numerous ways to make use of the motion-sensing device, from controlling Mario in Super Mario Bros to surgeons manipulating 3D CT images in midair.

So with the advent of Microsoft releasing their non-commercial Kinect SDK for PC. The question should be asked....could this happen_

Can you imagine controlling your mech through the kinect sensor.

What do you guys think_ Would it add more depth to the gameplay or just be in the way.

The kinect's just a dumb gimmick, and I don't want it to be involved in an action-based FPS.

Keep it to your party games or whatever.

Yea keep it out, actual game play

but what if your changing your batteries or something

It might be nice to be able to some basic commands while your in the lobby waiting for a game,
shot off a text, friend, menu options etc.

or in game a hand jester to speak globally, mute or to just your team.
so, dont have dig through menus in game to communicate to just the person or people you want to

You just wave your hand - a motion you mapped out and now your just speaking to cupcake

I really don't like this idea, Plus Steel Battalion is already doing this with their next game. The reasons for this should be obvious(like 50 button controller, remember that!)

I prefer hard controls in my hand(-.-' not a word)  whether a mouse/keyboard or controller. I want to know that when I hit the A button/key its going to work like it should, not "Oh if I swing my arm this way I'll shoot" or "If I bend my back this way I can jump." one word: Dumb.

I want the the person on the TV following me not the other way around. I am not controlled by my controller. Untill Microsoft gets the kinect down perfectly where there are no "Please move closer/away from the TV" or "You are moving too fast/not fast enough."
Then i'll think of considering it a gaming accessory.
Above the sky, beneath the stars.
Is where I soar, and your world is no more.
