That's right, the suppose "end of the world" according to maya culture is on 21 december 2012. So, if the game is released on day 12... We have exactly 9 days.

Now know what I will do during this 9 days before dying! >:D

December 12 - HAWKEN!!!
December 21 - End of world
December 22 - Make fun of the world

Though I'm hoping a public beta comes out much sooner, so hopefully we'll get a bit more gameplay than that.

According to the Mayan's there going to be a big change in 2012, not the end of the world.

So I was thinking Big change umm...

But now, talking seriously... 21 december 2012 will be the day that we will be aligned with the center of the galaxy. A lot of ancient cultures (like Mayas) talk about this day as important. Espiritism and Nostradamus said that between 2015~2050 will be a age of changes. Apocalypse or a new era of peace_ Nobody knows. I think we can just sit and wait for the better.

If I remember correctly, the Mayan calander is based on the movement of the planets/the sun; as a result, the end of their calander would be when the movement "resets" itself, or when the planets align.

The projected end is before December 21 (the Mayans were a tiny bit off). The correct end would be December 21.

Not necessarily the end of the world. If I remember it correctly I believed they called it "the lifting of the veil".

Actually I think the calendar just loops and starts at the beginning.

I read somewhere that what they meant was the first big post-release update for Hawken ;-)
