I know these are friendly forums. Although this would not necessarily mean that this new option would be considered as bad idea. Many sites and forums have both options available for their users.

Don't reflect the dislike votes in the user's profile is you wish (thing which I could positively understand..) but most of the times or at least sometimes would be a good additional helper to adress trolls and/or nay-sayers.. just to mention some.

Here it is then and hoping this may help somehow!

I think that such a button would deter many from actually stating their objections to the disliked material. I think everyone needs a fair chance of saying something and HEARING a reply. Just ignore the trolls.

... I remember when you used to be able to do this.
