I see a lot of cool camo's for a paint job and it got me thinking of Maps where they could be made more effective.

We already have a Canyon and City style scapes but how about something different_

Some Maps I would like to see added to Hawken:
  • A Lush Jungle {Ferns, Waterfalls and Ruins}
  • Island Scenario {Trees and Lakes}
  • Plains {Hills and Lakes}
  • Ocean Floor {Caverns and Reefs}
  • African Savannah {Rolling Grassland Hills and Sand Dunes at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro}
  • Summer Camp Lakeside {Caves, Creeks, Streams, Cabins}
  • Lunar Base {Moon, Jupiter, Pluto, etc...}
What would you liike to see in a new Map_

I would like to see a snow map. Something like a polar exploration camp or abandoned mining facility with buildings and caves surrounded by ice and snow.

I think some night time maps would be neat...with a big clear starry filled sky with blood red super moon, low lying dense fog, maybe like some gigantic King Sequoia trees and hillacious terrain,

maybe some massive stone architectures each with coridors and chambers.

Some maps with heavy precipitaion would be cool, torrential drilling rain with thunder and lightning, and all around really thick fog of war type atmospheres

as far as aesthetics, I would like to see strategic location maps as well. boost the sense of faction war with mining sites, processing facilities, research stations, maybe some of the mech factories used in so many of the promotional photos for Hawken_

As far as gameplay I would like maps featuring mobile objective points (like convoys) to get away from the fortify and defend aspect of holding out on AA turrets. Something that would allow for coordinated ambushes and other strategic approaches to combat.

I enjoy how a coordinated team can overcome a more powerful foe in hawken by working as a unit, and i would like to see this expanded upon in future maps, I also think that approach would prevent a lot of the rage quitting and people dropping teams just because the other side has more kills (expanding your player base).

"mobile objective points (like convoys)" yes or a train! mech needs to be on  the train for it to move! one mech from each team on the train and train no move! only one team on train train move! FUN!

i would like an icy map with so high mountaains and powerfull bunkers\
the mountains well be exelllent for my lvl 9 sharp  shooter :wub:

how will these mechs perform under water_ you'd need to design new underwater mechs. dumb sguggestion. your other suggestions amount to "can we have an vast open environment" which i agree with. there are no maps that accomodate long range combat. just a bunch of strafe spamming nonsense around city blocks.

Well, I'm sure they want to stick with the postapocalyptic feel, but there are ways to do that without keeping everything brown and gray, and a third of the planet is still free of the Hawken virus. Maybe we could play in a forest that's currently being infected, part random structures and part giant redwoodesque trees.

It would be nice a map of an invaded base(where they make the mechs).

The ability to have user created maps which everyone could download and vote on as a regular rotation would be awesome.  Ahhh, the good ol' days of custom textures and maps......  That could open up a whole new experience for players, not to mention taking a lot of the work load off the designers. Imagine all the contests and prizes that could come into play :)

Probably, but they need to get some of them to us two weeks ago. We should have had a new map for Christmas AND New Years. Having only 4 maps is a major drag on the game right now.

An overgrown forest with some war facilities would be really cool.

I think they should do bigger maps and expand the current ones, i mean, they are so small if you stop and observe them for a while(especially origin).

Maybe an giant  petrol base in the sea, or some industrial ruins,
or a hidden bunker in the middle of frozen mountains

some that shows where the mechas are assembled , it would be great, with working machines, ..

I liked the wasteland you made.

A map with a polluted river and some destroyed bridges and buildings over it, and a small city in the edges...
