Raider Briefing

The new Raider mech allows you to close pesky gaps quickly and unleash incredible, burst damage--at the same time! Its Blitz ability not only gives you a bump in speed, it lets you boost forward AND fire your weapons at the same time! No other mech does that!

Weapon Specs


[*]The ReFLAK-35 is a rapid-fire shotgun that unleashes salvo after salvo of ricochet flechettes that can bounce off objects and hit enemies where they least expect.
[*]The Corsair-KLA is dual-mode launcher. You can fire short-range MIRVs that explode on contact or airburst at the end of their range, or switch to grenade launcher mode and arc bombs over long distances that explode on contact.
[*]The semi-automatic, quick-loading T32-BOLT shotgun can be fired rapidly by fast-clicking the firing mechanism. To deal more damage, hold down the trigger and charge up a stronger shot.

Ability and Item Specs


[*]The Blitz ability increases your Raider's movement speed for several seconds. Plus, while Blitz is active you can fire your weapons while boosting forward!
[*]The Raider comes standard with the EMP offensive item, which can completely shut down enemy mechs for several seconds.

Anyone else feel like the RAIDER sounds a bit OP_ Increased movement speed + can fire while boosting + a special weapon that sounds like the best parts of the TOW and Grenade Launcher fused into one_ It's like, where is the downside here_

Can firing while boosting is just a special, not all of the time.

It is a pirate, meaning it can't swim...just like most pirates...which is very ironic...   <---- That is your downside.

Pirates are nasty, sneaky, evil....hmm...reminds me of yours truly.  I can't wait until 4pm CST.

I don't plan on going to work tomorrow...yup...feel a cold coming on... *coughs*

I just noticed that the dual launchers sound a lot like the modified REV-GL I made up in "A windy Day on Illial"

This seems like a highly powerful mech. Glad it is not in an A shell.

With both the TOW and the GL you can make near misses into hits by remote detonating. Since the KLA cannot do this it will require a lot better aim to use effectively. (also it sounds like its rocket mode has very short range)

With that said I love the sound of these new weapon! The Bolt sounds like having both a Mini-Flak and regular Flak at the same time. And the Reflak sounds like the Razorjack from unreal, which was a really fun gun to use =D

During Alpha, people screamed "Speed Hax" over this mech when it had its special ability active. At the time it was capable of triple dodging while blitzing and I truly hope they nerfed some of that.
