Hello to all you beautiful robot riders, and the rest of you as well. I got the game downloading right now, and I'm waiting for about... 1.6k more megabytes. So, while I wait, anyone got any tips for me_ I'll reward any given with compliments that scale to your helpfulness.

Firstly, just jump in and try to learn the maps, or sections of the maps. Don't wander off by yourself as much as possible, groups are powerful. Never stop moving, A-D-A-D movements aren't exactly precise in this game because you are a big target however you look at it, Dashing is very key, learn the timing for weapons like the TOW, Flak and Heat cannon and when to dodge.

You'll start with the CRT-Recruit, which is a pretty balanced mech off the bat, lower your mouse sensitivity in game (and maybe other) so you can keep on the target consistently even as they move. Remember that the TOW launcher can be pre-maturely detonated if you hit the firing button again, good for hitting people around corners.

This game is about movement, using the terrain and teamwork. You'll get the hang of it.

PS, Siege is the fastest way to get XP and HP, but it's sometimes slow and very very team based.

  • Try not to stand in one spot.
  • Do not hover and shoot at people, you're almost as easy to hit as a C-class in turret mode.
  • Be a team player in TDM, back up your team members and don't go rushing in on your own.
  • Same follows for Missile Assault.
  • Do not play Siege like TDM, but do go to the AA if the enemy has less than 200 EU to launch.
  • Do not give chase in Siege as you're going to be led to your death.
  • Don't ragequit because the other team turned the tides, especially in Siege.  It's still possible to come back on top, but if you leave it just makes it harder for your own team.  In Siege the best matches become games of tennis with each side swapping control of the AA.
  • You have team chat, so use it, if you have a mic or headset even better.  Communication is key, something funny can help lighten moods, something encouraging could give your team that last push, or you can use it when you die to let your team know where someone is.
  • Pay attention to what other players are doing, especially if they're consistently killing you.
  • The TOW Missile and Grenade Launcher grenades can be remotely detonated, this can be used to your advantage.
  • If you get called a hacker, it's either because you're doing good, or the other person is 10 kinds of butthurt and doesn't understand that they can be killed.

Welcome! Stick with your teammates in team gametypes. That choice makes an overwhelming difference and, too often, it's the one thing we new players don't do.

There's tons of other great guidance on the forums, but that's the big one right off the bat.
