swamp map with fog and a beach/underwater map, maybe an island, these are great ideas, the devs may want to take note of this thread

This map sounds fantastic, as mechs to me are the most versatile combat system available, they should also easily be able to move through water.
My issue with this_ You would have to convert nearly every weapon class. How so_ Guns may be able to fire underwater, but it affects everything from compression, and reloading, to the actual velocity of the bullet. Not to mention missles/rockets.
Then the idea of actually having to engage in combat underwater, though awesome, brings a whole new level of difficulty. Movement is slowed, but so is turning speed and dodging speed. The predator may flourish here, but any class A is now discounted as easy prey. Not to mention the class C's as they would turn so slowly that reacting to fire would be comparable to... I want to use pudding in someway but can't think of a way. Compression from the weight of the ocean, and other physical issues would arise as well.

Hate to say it, but it hardly sounds viable. Sounds like a great single player map though, perhaps making the cut scene walking through the gigantic mech mentioned before, and the mission starting by storming the island.

I'd enjoy a map on some sort of large oil rig-ish platform. Rendering will be a pain I suppose, but I think dying by falling off the stage is good to include here and there.

As far as including water for gameplay, it might be a lot of work to code proper movement physics (plus it probably won't be too feasible for mechs to move really slow).

I agree. Maybe we could mix the two (sort of) and have an ocean map which is under water but have some sort of fog and loads of seaweed. Predator heaven.
So... a more foggy Wreakage under the sea_  +1
I am reminded of that area in super metroid, I really would love to see a map like that, say deep wreckage. based around a swampy island or something like that.
