Genghis Khans (LordTemujin) GoKarting thread made me think of this. (Thanks LT)

Hawken is a game about mobility.

How about a game mode that showcases skill in that, and that alone_

Some point to point racing, weapons deactivated.  Items are allowed.  (Imagine blocking with a barricade at a critical moment)

Devs_

Sounds very fun, but there isn't really any racing track like maps yet...

There isn't a racing mode either.  Point_  :)

I think though, a "racing style track" isn't necessary.  We're interested in the skill of navigating around the maps, not a mariokart style map with bumpers and ripple strips, if that's what you're asking.

A lot of the current maps would be easy to put a convoluted looped circuit into, integrating checkpoints you need to pass to proceed to the next point.  How you get there would be up to you.

I'm not sure this kind of mode is the best use of resources for an 18-person team, but:
Front Line has enough roads, curves and rolling hills to be a track if it comes down to it.

It was fun while it lasted.

It would almost always be between Scouts I would think. With their ability it would almost always allow them to go twice as long. Not sure how the Raider would fare.

If tracks dont work, their can be random points on the map that must be crossed to score. (like rocket race in halo)

Hmm... maybe not racing, but this gives me an idea for another kind of game mode.

How about a mode where, lets say, an EU spike appears somewhere in the map and the teams have to battle to capture it in the same way a missile silo is captured in missile assault_ Once capped, a new point will appear at a random location. It could be a sort of hybrid of siege and missile assault in that, while there's only one point to defend at a time, the points are dynamic and never in any preset locations.

The beauty of your idea Hubba, is they already have the spawning algorithm required to implement this.  First team to 1000 EU wins or something like that.
