Summary: Binding movement controls in the controls menu reads individual analog stick directions (e.g. Left Analog Up, Left Analog right) and saves those. These control bindings do not function in actual play, even when expressly bound, as the new default movement bindings appear to be X Axis and Y Axis and the game apparently only recognises those for analog movement. Controls menu will not read in either axis for rebinding, requiring resetting all controls to default to fix.
Steps to Reproduce:
  • Use a gamepad/controller recognized by HAWKEN

  • Go to the controls menu

  • Rebind the controls such that X Axis and Y Axis are overwritten with the individual analog stick directions

  • Enter a match of any kind, be it online or offline practice

  • Attempt to move using the newly bound analog stick and observe as your mech sits completely still
Frequency: Every single attempt to rebind the analog stick, as long as that rebinding overwrote the X/Y Axis bindings, would result in an unresponsive mech.
Severity: 4. Movement is still possible using default bindings, but the reason for movement not working is likely very unclear to most users, and rebinding to the Axis controls is impossible without defaulting everything and losing all other custom bindings.
Additional Notes: Issue was not present prior to the March 27 patch.
System Specs: Mostly irrelevant as this is a keybinding issue, not anything to do with performance. However, I am using a DualShock 3 over USB connection being read as a Microsoft Xbox 360 controller through the Xinput wrapper. (So basically, I'm using a corded Xbox 360 controller.)
