Restrict forum-posting privileges to accounts which have completed at least one in-game match. Requiring 10 minutes of in-game time will hopefully be too time consuming for most spam bots (certainly compared to inputting an e-mail and sliding a bar), but not too restrictive on new players who may post on the forums for help learning to play.
