So apparently I can't use my Animated Gif of a Helghast Soldier. Yet when I go to my profile page it is just all fine and dandy animated. Also the fact the grey borders appear just make it look ugly :s
Anyways looking into this would be nice of us Gif Users.

Cheers!

The original uploaded image is displayed on our profile pages. In threads, the avatar is a converted thumbnail without animation. Not sure if this is intentional or not.

Probably they do that to avoid possible abuses and/or too distracting custom user graphics on the forum  pages. I've not see any annoying me too much (or anyhow) yet.

Hope to hear something from a mod on this matter though.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is an IPBoard limitation, not a Meteor/Adhesive choice.

It seem to be supported but is probably turned of.

Makes sense. But I've seen a few things just not work (or, suddenly break after a board upgrade) on IPBoard, so it wasn't completely unthinkable that it just flatly didn't work.

Honestly if the avatars were able to be animated it would be quite annoying to look at the forum main page.

However you may use animated sigs in here. If someday they do allow animated avatars "again" then an option to turn them off (that is to show the first frame of 'em only) would be much appreciated. As is the option to not show signatures.

There's nothing written about tastes. Tastes evolve or vary according to your mod... I'm rambling.. In other words: The more forum settings available and general freedom in the house the better.

Haha, I know!
It'd make the forums lag like crazy though!
