Audio Dies If I Unplug My Headphones

The game runs perfectly, not a single complaint. But if I were to, say, switch my headphones, the sound dies. I tried turning the volume up, muting/unmuting, checking my audio settings, and all that jazz, but I can't see what's causing it. The only thing I can do is exit the game and restart. Any thoughts_

Left click your volume controls.
Select 'open volume mixer'.
Compare plugged to unplugged, tell us what happens.

Yeap, I noticed that as well.
This happens too with other vo/ip third party programs as for example RaidCall in case it helps soemhow. You unplug and sound is gone until you restart the stuff.

USB headphones are considered a separate audio device under windows, and last I checked, Hawken doesn't play well with switching discrete output devices.
(I don't mean to necro threads, I'm just almost always running behind. My apologies)

Just standard headphones, through the mic jack.
