I love hawken to bits, but I'm stuck playing Siege all the time because tdm is too short in my opinion.
This isn't Call of Duty with short TTK and 4x4 maps, it takes time and strategy to take down the enemy and 10 minutes is way too short to get properly stuck into it. By the time you start getting some decent kills and have warmed up, the match is already over. The kill limit is fine, but in 90% of matches it is never reached due to ridiculously short match timer.
15 minutes would be ideal to get a decent match and plenty of fun.
What do you think_

I think you need to play more matches.

While I get where you're coming from and personally enjoy the 12 minute times on DMs, saying that 90% of the matches don't get to 40 is not right. Even excluding roflstomps, most of my matches end at 40, unless there's less than 12 people in the room.

This may be an artefact of your MMR, or maybe EU is more conservative in play style_ It's been a while since I've played there.

While Amid's experience is in line with mine, I wouldn't mind seeing a 15 minute time limit on TDM as I do on some private servers.

if I remember it correctly it used to be 15 minutes_ then they had complaints along the lines of people just wanting to do their dailys and taking up too much of their time or something. I think the number of kills to win was 50 too.

The shorter timer wouldn't be as bad if the time between matches was much shorter and people didn't take off right after the match all the time.

10mins is great for training. I agree that for more organised play longer time should be better, 15mins or even 20mins for leagues

Thats how long it was originally. They cut the time along with health and some other things because they felt the pace was a bit slow. So the ten minutes and the 300 - 500 health pool was an effort to speed up the pace of the game. The turn cap was also higher and there was acceleration before mech got up to full speed.

What does that have to do with the topic_ absolutely nothing.

Ok I apologize. I should have realized that in a topic named TDM match time, is the wrong place to post something related to the match time TDM used to be, which if I remember correctly is the same as the OP was suggesting: 15 minutes.
