Simple Suggestion: More Napalm

We have machine guns, we have flak cannons, we have a sabot rifle, but do we have napalm_

I think it would make a nice, quaint, and suitable weapon addition to the game, as well as adding customization.

It would also make for much more intensive battles. I'd actually be fine with lobbed mech's gas tank as a make-shift molotov cocktail.

Or i'd be fine with a bowling pin as a weapon choice. You know, for the children.

'Nam style napalm throwers. Stream of chemical based fire, aka napalm

Edit: It would also be interesting to experiment with the napalm thrower and have it increase either the player or the player's enemy's overheat. Give the weapon a unique ability akin to that, but not too overpowered. It would add a little more variety to the game.

I would be OK with either a flamethrower type weapon that sticks and does damage over time or more of a fuel / napalm bomb that has a long cooldown (say, around the same as rockets) but coats all the mechs in a DOT style fire. It would make for a TON of fun for jumping in, doing damage, dodging and LOSing, and then popping back in again and doing damage.

Seriously, this idea has me a bit excited.

I'm glad it does, it's something I seriously want as well.

If you want you can try to have the idea placed on the thread at the top, the general suggestions.

It would definitely make for much more intense battles

I would kill for this to be a secondary on a new C class. The ability to stay in a hot area much longer combined with the sustained damage output would pretty much make my idea of the ideal C class. Good fire support and damage output with some good drawbacks. Set the range to more medium-short range so it wouldn't stomp on the rockteer's role and give it an automatic primary and I'd be one happy camper.

That would be an excellent addition to the C-Class.

Also probably the class that needs it the most

This sounds like an absolutely amazing idea. Flame/napalm -thrower could be a both tacticly useful and amusing weapon to add to the game, please do

I think it would be interesting if it were more of a support weapon that increases the enemy weapon heat while doing minor sustained damage.  I would think it could also be used to ignite an area for a short period of time.

That actually is the best way I can see it being implemented.


Also, if sharpshooters have the flak cannon, I do believe one of the A or C class mechs could do with a flamethrower
