On both Mon and Tue I played against 3 devs on US West... They didn't have "tags" on, but I am positive of who they were just because their names are the same ones as in the forums. They not only "play" alongside us, they read these forums too.

Perhaps that person suggested you put it up on the forums to see how much interest there was in tags just so they know how to prioritize it in the grand list of their "to-do's". I have no idea on that one. However, both you and I know that the ability is there.

I'd like this more than I would the whole "PUT THE FLAG AS A DECAL THING" because Clans... aren't countries, we wouldn't be creating really silly racial tensions. Our language barriers should do more than enough for that.

I for example, cannot speak pirate. I am against the existence of pirates as a result. However, I know a lot of people from, say, eGO. Love the guys.

I really don't like clans. I feel like they do nothing but splinter the communities of the game they inhabit. As a social construct, whatever. But I don't want that social construct encouraged through shiny tags. I would much rather have my mech name displayed.

I'm sure my friend wants everyone to know his infiltrator is named "BATTLE READY BATTLE DRACULA."

There will be clans and tags. Any self respecting shooter will have them and how Hawken looks so far, it's more than just self respecting game.

Clan Tags is great idea. Many players want to join gorups and play together. In Tribes: Ascend you can buy a Clan Tag for a small amount of currency that you earn throughout the game and make a CLan Tag even without a clan.

Personally, I would like a Clan Tag where you are able to use signs like / = ) etc. For example:
[<ToW>]
where [ ] would be automatically added to distinguish a Clan Tag. I would limit the number of signs, to let's say 5-7.

We need the ability to create different coloured Clan Tags, and the ability to create up to three fire-teams from one team.

clan tags are a must lol other wise any one could change the name to look like ther in your clan or pay to change name which ever it is lol.

I support the concept of CLANs and having the ability of putting CLAN Tags on our MECHS. That beings said, I also think there should be some games (like a “free for all death match”) where people who don’t belong to a clan can still find someone on one game play. Diversity is the spice of life!
