I'm thinking that DX9 mode might be hazardous on some systems and I want to try and minmax this. Is it possible at all to boot the game into DirectX10 or DirectX 11 or is it just sort of no difference_

You can't, hawken supports only dx 9 Atm.

Seriously_ Please explain to me how DX9 can damage a PC. Just because one might own a "hot rod" doesn't mean you can't drive it down the street at 30mph.

My brain hurts trying to figure out how DirectX 9's libraries could somehow be harmful to a computer.
