Warning: Language and general immaturity abound.

If you like this video, check out my channel for more of the same.

Saltheart and I are also looking to participate in a competitive team; feel free to drop a line.

Nice stuff. Really nice image quality too. What do you record with_

Never occurred to me that people were actually communicating in-game; haven't joined a match with talkers yet!

I'm using Fraps, recording at 2048 x 1152. This output is outrageously huge (which is awesome, but doesn't upload well). I render/compress using VirtualDub to 1280 x 720 for the final upload.

We use Ventrilo to stay in communication. You might hear the awesome names we've assigned for sections of the map.

I'm fond of "the ramp".
It's so graceful and majestic sounding.

Well, the area right adjacent to the ramps is a delightful place called "anal beads". Tell me if you can figure out why.

Awesome gameplay. Makes me want to buy a mic for the sake of team coordination.

When it comes to teamwork, having the coordination afforded by having a microphone is unparalleled. In addition to communication, it also lets you avoid getting wound up over the game since you can just shoot the fuzzy bunny between bouts of combat.

For anyone that plays online games on a fairly consistent basis, getting a mic is a huge benefit.

Most of the time, even if I'm not playing alongside him, I'll be talking to Beeman while I play.
It's always fun on some level.

Agreed, it's basically just hanging out in vent. Easy way to catch up with RL friends while doing some gaming.

Hey, someone else with the same monitor as I have.

However, I upload mine in up to their glorious 1152p quality. :P

If I could only have a gameplay experience 1/4  this smooth I'de be happier than a kid at the Christmas tree. You play good, very good indeed, but not having stutterings, mini freezes and 100 more shakiness is probably halfway through.

While I agree that having smoothness will aid gameplay, the onus should be on the player to ensure that his system is up to spec for the game. You can't expect a new game to go over the top in catering to older systems. I understand that having a broader hardware requirement will encourage a larger audience, but there is a point where you'll simply have to upgrade.

That being said, I'm running a pretty modest system and getting about 40 fps while recording.
i5 2500k
16 GB memory
1x 560ti
The game is installed on an SSD

---

I don't think those specs are outrageous by any measure, seeing as they cost $850 or so when I purchased it last year around this time. Figure out which settings to disable, drivers to use, and resolution to play at will help you squeeze out the most FPS your system can manage. Beyond that, it might be time to look in to upgrading (if you want smooth gameplay).

Dude, my rig handles any modern game without even sweating. This is an old UT3 engine game. There's a thread on this matter, which is an issue just like BLR once had, and now it's fixed over there. And a lot of players are having low FPS and frame drops like me.
My specs are inferior than yours, but brave enough to run games like Rage or even the hungry Metro 2033 at high settings. What to say about a modest Unreal Engine based product_
i7-820QM, ATI Mobility Radeon 5870, 6GB RAM 1,333.

My understanding is that ATI GPUs have been experiencing a lot of driver issues. Yes, you should be able to pull a smooth framerate with the hardware that you have. Unfortunately, the incompatibilities (or possibly running a laptop GPU) are probably the source of your issues.

Hmmm, not only ATI. Some people with NVidia are also suffering. I know they will review the code and fix it. It's clear.
Thanks, mate! Have a really good one.
