This game is meant to be what it is
if you want a mech game where you spend hours on end dicking around with every nut and bolt on your mech then this is not the game for you so stop trying to make it be that game.
Stop cluttering up the forums with your TLDR essay long explanations and pointless polls saying why you want it to be a different game than it is.

i think the game is exactly what the devs said it would be and its a lot of fun and easy to play casually. I dont have to spend 10 hours perfecting every last item on my mech to be able to compete online.

Er... part of the point of testing is to collect feedback.

It may be disorganized, missing-the-point feedback, but it's just as valuable to the devs, because it shows where the game, or the way they're presenting it, has weaknesses.

I think we can find a nice balance between accessibility and depth ;D  Luckily we're close on a lot of things.  You'll be seeing some updates between now and open beta which should make everyone happy.

I seriously don't get this mentality. I saw it on MWO's forums and now I'm seeing it here_ What happened to selling the game to new players, trying to get them interested, helping them figure out the basics_ Only negatives can result from shooing away the future with this line of thought.

Frankly, MWO may be selling itself as "a [deep] Mech [simulator] where you spend hours on end dicking around with every nut and bolt on your Mech," but it's not in great shape either. They have a lot of work to do if they expect to succeed (let alone deliver on the promises they made six months ago), and I say this as an avid fan of the MechWarrior series. If anything, the F2P model there is far crueler.

Feedback is important. Feedback is what helps clear a developer's vision. Even if you don't agree with it, the devs need to know. You can't improve a game by squelching every complaint, every nitpick, every mumbling... for even the tiniest detail can -- and should -- be polished.

As an avid mechwarrior enjoyer, I've got to say that this game succeeds in every aspect that MWO is struggling right now.

The on-field tactics are already infinitely more varied than they are in MWO.

There are one or two choke points in the MWO maps and only one gameplay mode that is incredibly restrictive in determining how play flows. The way they've adapted the tabletop rules encourages players to act as though they're a single, cohesive entity, but it then provides literally no viable tools to accommodate that sort of cohesion unless you're already in a clan that was still holding together through MW3/4. The forums are litterred with people too stuck in their own bullfuzz tabletop whatever to look past their nose and see that the game needs to be accessible to newcomers. They're also completely incapable of realizing that individual player agency needs to be VIABLE before it should even consider being present.

As a shooter, it's terrible. As an RTS it's almost decent.

I have been really into MWO for a few months now. I've been following it since it was announced. $30 worth of into it for months and I've got to admit this game has it by the short hairs. I'm already absolutely itching for the compettitive games scene to get ahold of this. Fighting is frantic and full of spectacle. Daring dashes and wild explosions abound while cars are being smashed and lightposts are disintegrating. Flashy tactics and teamplay are incredibly rewarding endeavors for smart pilots! There are ambushes, stalking, snipings, rivalries! GARUDA.

Every passing engagement is a lead hurricane. I hope this game NEVER gets closer to being MWO.

And then. The devs have turned around and said there's gonna' be PVE, Co-op, more game modes! I've gotten a ton of friends to play it so far and they all agree that it's our next TF2.

HOWEVER

There's certainly a lot of work to be done still. Most of it should revolve around rate of player progression through content. Rate of HP gain. Prices. The one that concerns me is this levelling tree thing we have going on here. I'm already improving in my piloting just by playing. Admittedly I have a pretty good start if I'm to listen to post-match scoreboards, but I know there are bigger fish. But are they bigger fish because they've earned more XP than I have_ That remains to be seen.

I don't like playing RPGs. I like playing games that reward me for actually bettering myself as a player. Games that let me look at something and say without question that "I did this" and I don't want anyone to be able to say that it's just because I'm pumping points into my armor tree or into dodge-recharge rates. Be careful with that, Adhesive. Nobody really likes to win just because their numbers are bigger. And new players hate to lose because their numbers are arbitrarily smaller.

All I'm seeing from you is complaining, let others give their opinions on this game. That is how a game grows, there is absolutely no need to bash someone for giving their opinion. There is a reason why we are in a BETA test. Stop being a fuzzy bunny.

people are not reviewing they game
they are telling the devs they want a different game not talking about whats in this one

Man, I churn this stuff out in a matter of minutes. I've got this pretty ridiculous background in game design for a person who doesn't actually make games.
