No. o.o For one good reason: I'm usualy zipping around in an A-Class mech blowing stuff up and then trying to escape with my life intact.  If there was  a kill cam that showed your killer, they could be all 'hey team, he's hiding right next to you' after death.

Yes, because the best thing about a death cam is how it shows you exactly where the enemy is. You've already got radar and HUD highlighting.

I don't want Easy Mode Hawken, please.

I could be mistaken, but I think the camera already orients towards your killer. Granted its anchored on your flaming wreckage which is hard to see through. I like it as it stands.

It does. If you're aware enough, it points you right towards them. Have picked off a few snipers this way.

its already does that. it just doesn't zoom in on where the shooter is (camera follows movement of killer for a few seconds after death).

Its just not a COD style kill cam such as

"Hey! This is who killed you... and Here is were he was!"

A 3rd person kill cam centered on, you.. maybe. A kill cam_ No. Reveals too much about the enemy team.

Although I do want to be able to rage at the person that killed me.

The game already provides enough of a camera to tell who killed you the majority of the time. It's rather easy to tell how you die too, unless you're in the middle of a large fight. Like others have said, a kill cam simply gives away the position of snipers and gives too much information about the other players.

Gawd please no. HAWKEN is fine without a COD-style kill cam. Never liked the implementation of that in a shooter to begin with, and HAWKEN identifies enough data/enemies to you as it is.

I want to tell this topic to die in a fire.

When you die, it tells you who killed you with what. On top of that, you can see who is right in front of you, and the camera, while locked on your burning wreckage, usually finds the -nearest- spot of action in case you don't see it. Usually there's a Berserker dancing on your corpse and it shows you that.

That alone should give you enough knowledge of what fragged your metallic behind so you can go and pump it full of whatever ammunition you desire. Also, looking around the map helps, too. Snipers aren't really nearby, but they're not invisible.

I can't really remember many unfavourable engagements that left me clueless as to why I might've come off second best or what errors might've lead up to a death. By the time some basic map knowledge, common hotspots and routes, and an understanding of the game's situational cues and feedback systems were absorbed and habitually accessible, losing a fight felt somewhat self-explanatory. Instances in which the cause of death wasn't immediately discernible were either due to overcrowding slash being outnumbered, or could be reasonably pinned down by remaining aware of the game's feedback systems and damage indicators; a distant, out of view sniper is hidden only so long as they haven't hit you.

As far as first person shooters go, Hawken's gameplay leans firmly towards agility and liveliness, distancing itself from plodding, stiff alternatives. This encourages players to get within close proximity with other mechs. This, combined with a familiarity of the game's mechanics and map layouts, go a ways in making the information offered up by a postmortem snapshot summary at best.

How about a spectator kill cam.
I think its important if they are leaning towards eSports, along with the possibility of having free camera and 1st person camera.

Clarification please.
By "spectator kill cam", do you mean a standard spectator mode cam_
Or do you mean something like, you'd be in spectator mode following a mech and if they got killed it would show you the person who killed the mech you were following_

Something that would allow spectators to replay kills that they have missed, or just watch them again from a different angle.

Ah, so something like the demo recordings functions found in Halo or TF2.

Well, for something like that, it'd need to be a serverside demo recording, and if you're going to go that far, why not just have one of the whole match_

It'd be interesting to see "fronts" and positions develop, like watching a couple players box and kill another.
