Hello guys, I am itching to start Hawken up but I have com through a hurdle. When I am on the patcher and click on the launch button, it loads some stuff but stops, displaying a message telling what you read on the title: "unable to determine current version"
What should I do_

Woop never mind, deleting the .version file seems to make it work.
In retrospect, the bigass patch I have to make is going to be troublesome, especially since I am in a LAN... dammit
Oh well, for hawken, we gotta do what we gotta do. Would be great if the installer had most of the material, though. Downloading almost 2 gigs via the patcher seems to make things a lot slower.

Be advised, game may still be screwy if you do it that way. If you get this error message, it USUALLY means you were in one of the Alphas, and in that case, you're supposed to uninstall the Alpha before installing the beta.
If this really is your first trip, though, disregard that.

Alright, so you can probably ignore that then, though it's kind of puzzling why you would've gotten it if you're not installing over an alpha build.

And now it is stuck at "Retrieving manifest". Any ideas why it would be showing this_
Correction, it stops trying to retrieve and says "Unable to download manifest". Servers are down_

Make sure you run as admin. "Unable to download manifest" is usually a server issue. Wait a little while.

At Midnight PST there was a short period of time where the new launcher was available and the patch was uploading. If you hit that timeframe just right I could see how you got into that state.
