My monitor gets the "Out of Range" error after launching Hawken. I can't navigate to any menus to change the settings, obviously, so is there any way to adjust them before launching the game_

Try navigating here C:Program Files (x86)MeteorEntertainmentHawkenInstalledHawkenFilesHawkenGameConfig open DefaultSystemSettings.ini

find these two lines

ResX=1280
ResY=720

set that to your native resolution, if that file doesnt work, try this one

C:Program Files (x86)MeteorEntertainmentHawkenInstalledHawkenFilesEngineConfig
BaseSystemSettings.ini

I have much the same problem.  I fixed it in exactly that manner.

Devs, please have the game auto-detect our current resolution upon first launch.  Many AAA and indie games alike do this already.  I would consider this an essential usability feature.  Most causal F2P players will have no clue how to fix this and I guarantee you there will be plenty who have old monitors that cannot deal with certain resolutions.

This is a really stupid thing that has existed since Alpha 2 when I started to play. It loads up in a stupid resolution and I fix it by hitting alt+enter first.
