The size limit on these avatars is kind of ridiculous. I know it's not a huge deal but I think it would be awesome if the admins could up the limits a bit. Anyone else think this would be nice_

Save your image as a gif then it should be able to fit.

Are GIFs more compressed than JPEG_ I never knew... Anyway, I did make a thread because of this, maybe I'll be able to increase the quality after what I've just learned.

Yes way more compressed. But have a greater colour loss rate. I believe a gif can only support 256 colours at a time so if you have a rich image, it can become blotty and tinted in colour to the most prominant colour on in the image.

I've upped the size limit from 8KB to 14KB.

Thanks Jon. Still too small for my avatar but it's better I can get mine down to 14

I think the avatar dimensions should be changes slightly; So that they fit in the centre of the "Left bar" next to the posts.
