I've noticed of the poweroff state during the gameplay video. Looks cool to me.

What about a jumpjets poweroff state as well_. In order to balance the equation, a couple of features could be added.. as for example a moderate "speed run" as well as a moderate "super jump".

Can you see it_. :)

There is apparently an instant turnaround ability, but it only does 180s. I doubt the jets will have a cooldown because without them and having your weapons on cooldown would pretty much ruin your day. I don't see a super jump or run since the jetpack pretty much compensates both of those.

The speed of mech increased when its weapons went offline.

Is there some kind of logical explanation for this_

All I know is that I have a fan under my laptop to remove the excess heat. Maybe increasing speed increases the airflow over heated components, hence cooling them.

Maybe it pulled out a knife a la Counter Strike_

Sorry, the idea of a 2 ton Mech running away with a 3 inch blade in its fist made me giggle.

According to my view, I was imagining attack from the rear. Big impacts which could temporariliy disable jetpacks for a while until they get somehow repaired.

In cases like that.. a run speed as well as a moderate jump feature might fit pretty well into the tactics scheme; and without to get redundant features per se.

Once more that was just an idea. =)

What I would like to see is the ability to change the dash action with something else, perhaps even in-game.

Imagine being able to select from different movement abilities in-game and then using them to surprise your opponent. Like first you dash behind a set of buildings, then change your dash to a high jump, and then jump over the buildings to surprise your enemy with an aerial attack.

Or something like that anyways.

That would be OP unless there was some sort of universal cooldown :/

Mech Mechanic posed a better solution I think. He said something like having sliding, forward boost and multi-directional boost as being different movement options.

Yeah. Anyway my vision for these speed and jump mechanics was under pretty moderate tags. Sliding is going to always look as something very interesting to me.

It looked like the Mech was on an emergency/critical mode, the HUD shut down.
All available power was re-routed to the legs.

In one of the interviews in the sticky on the 'Hawken' page, one of the dev's indicated they have a insta-180 move, and a limited slide/sidestep avoidance move. Along with the relatively slow jump-jet, it sounded like that was it as far as AC-type mechanics.

I do positively think that we do need of a new gameplay video before we move forward on these matters / discussions =).

The idea of super boost is not that bad. You use boost to fly or just for  moving forward faster....
but if there would be  such a super boost option it should have limits....
if you use super boost - you go damn fast for example 20 metres - and then  you can't move for 1.5 sec and you have your boost indicator = zero (coz super boost would cause overheat :) and it uses all power )
but it could be use for avoiding heat seekers or some wide range weapons.
Don't know how to put limits for it if you try to go up in the sky with turbo boost...Maybe mech flies in a random direction...like if it was a catapult.
