Pretty sure the Rocketeer is the lamest one at the moment, Assault is pretty darn crazy to be honest.

Assault is my choice of weapon. I've kicked some serious ass with it. :)

High level rocketeers aren't that bad. To be honest they are not to be trifled with.

I rather like my Rocketeer

Protip: the EOC explosives can be shot into the ground and work as proximity mines

I'm feeling much better now after a row of DM games with my Assault... that's another story though.

I still think that Assault mechs do need of some extra love.

Moves weird (dashing, less fuel and slower) and dies faster than before. I think its mminigun inflicts less damage as well. Am I wrong on all that_

Edit: And I do not have a solid pink color for my mech' skin! :P ( And I'm serious on that ) :)

It's not nearly as dominant as it was in CBE1, though some would argue that's less because of it got nerfed and more because there's even "cheesier" tactics (like the people who complained up and down about Sharpshooters, and then Vulcan, being OP.)
Reason as my minor ego, and opposite my desire to be a murderer.
A coagulated, gloomy thinking in the intelligence, as my major ego.
An antinomian theorem of behaviorism, in all of my thinkings.
It's what we call "The Inversion Impulse."

SharpShooters require a lot of skills at medium/close range. I suggest you something, why you guys don't play some few 1vs1 fights against the 2 currently dominating classes. I'm thinking that most of you guys who are saying -nay is Ok as it is now- on here are NerSeekers or -in slightly less proportion- Infiltrators.

Confess and repent! :P

Nah.. seriously. Give to those 1vs1 a try and tell me what ya think. Not from what may happen In the middle of chaotic (but fun) DM scenarios. Thanks in advance (you got little time though..) :)

With the right "Optimization" of your Assult class, you can rock someone's world even an upgraded Brawler 1 vs 1.

FYI, I've been mounting a pretty fat level 13 Assault and I re-state that something is not going well with this mech class.

I actually think that the Assault is in a really good place right now (when they fix the vulcan removal on it). I tend to try and not play it in recent matches though as it's more challenging/fun to play classes I haven't gotten down yet

As other people have pointed out, it's not as overpowered as it was before, but it's still quite viable. Especially if you're able to consistantly hit with the TOW rocket.

A mech is good or bad based on 2 things:

mech lvl
player skill

thus if you are a lvl 1 noob aginced a lvl 20 slighty less noob you will loose

(everyone is a noob atm game is not out long enough not to be and if anyone sais otherwise: they are dumb.  Any game that requires a lot of skill to not be a noob takes at least 100+ hrs)

Hours mean nothing in a game like this. Previous FPS skill, along with a bit of Dosh will see people stomping at all hours of gameplay.

All those years of Tribes/Mech practice have to be good for something. That ignorant statement was like saying having RTS experience won't make you better when you start playing Starcraft.

Apart from the Vulcan, assault is now fairly balanced imo. Especially compared to a while back. They tried some changes with Infiltrator but made it stronger in some areas lol :E

If you suck with the TOW though you are gonna have a really rough time as Assault lol.
