And the general feel I got out of that thread was that no one really wanted it nor did it fit within the game world.
I'm against it. I don't think it's needed and feel that it would 'cheapen' the game asthis isn't Black Ops, UT or Quake 3, it doesn't need the stuff that seems to be aimed at the short attention span crowd.
I wouldn't be against the on-board computer being a bit more verbose when certain things happen. After all, we get warnings when getting close to overheating, why not a warning when the armour is low_ But please make it adjustable with the option to turn it off.
(I don't mean to necro threads, I'm just almost always running behind. My apologies)

I don't want too much voice but wouldn't mind a few more verbal warnings.

If it does get implemented, definitely should be something computerized, or maybe something that's actually really old sounding (i.e; maybe something that was from advanced pre-oops tech).

The default would be a genderless robotic voice, but you could also pay meteor points to get different ones, maybe a female one or a psychotic one, shouting: "KILLING SPREE, DOUBLE KILL" and etc.
*sigh*

However, I like the idea of being able to purchase an AI voiceover but one like Unreal Tournament or was it Quake 3 would be horrid. I was thinking something like J.A.R.V.I.S. from Iron Man

Hmm, I heard that the woman who voiced Shodan, Terri Brosius, will voice the AI SARA in Interstellar marines
System shock was an awesome game.

Oh, Tetris Online/Tetris Friends [not sure which is the official name] is an online competitive Tetris community. I used to be hooked on it. lol
anyway, you got options to customize your gameplay [block styles, sound effects, announcer voices, etc] You could choose between a default male/female voice, a robot voice, the voice of Tetris's creator, etc for announcements, only the non-default announcers cost rubies [Tetris Online's paid currency]
