So to promote discussion and less yes/no posts I thought since at least a handful of people like the idea we can continue discussing the specifics and adding ideas.

Pros:
  • A very refreshing break from pvp and will keep players playing.
  • A chance for more story to be shown inside the game.
Cons:
  • Could take away development time for pvp and other things player want.
Ideas so far:
  • Work off the whole Hawken virus thing and have Hawken virus-type enemies or structures that need to be taken out or taken down.
  • Either survival or protect an object from waves of AI enemies.

It could be interesting, as it would add something different to do in the game. There are a good amount of FPS games with a PvE mode in them, so the idea is not that out there.

Could be either survival or protect an object from waves of AI enemies.

Sounds like fun to me. Maybe they could work off the whole Hawken virus thing and have Hawken virus-type enemies or structures that need to be taken out or taken down.

it could be a fun and refreshing. Especially if they found a way to tie it well with the universe of Hawken.

It would take a LOT of work.
Don't feel like it justifies.

That was my initial thought, too. I wouldn't want it taking up time from balancing the game and getting it ready for open beta, but long-term it'd be nice to mix things up. I'm already itching for some new maps... can't imagine they don't have more in store for us later. :)

Well, for those who worry it could take too much time from the chore gameplay, maybe we could convince then to look towards this once they have a stable game and a growing player base giving them lotsa money :)

I think it would be a great idea, very refreshing from pvp every once in awhile and adds a whole new world of creativity for the devs.

Updated post to shift it's focus to a more conversational progressive tone.
