I have gone up against many light mechs and why can they take out heavy mechs faster.  It also seems that the light mechs have more armor because when I hit them I do little damage.

The lvl makes barely a difference. Personal skill taht you get while playing makes the part. Because of the speed and dodging the experienced player choose mainly light mechs.

a A class mech is meant to dance circles around a heavy. You as a C class just need to find a strat that works for you. Personally i emp and run to teammates haha

^This, C-classes hit hard but make for easy targets for the mobile A-classes. If you have one or two people with you it becomes a lot harder for the light to stay out of fire and you can unload your damage while they are distracted.

Quit perpetuating the myth that being high level means the mech is automatically better.

Yes, the pilot might be better due to experience, but that's far from a 100% guarantee and levels make almost no difference whatsoever.

If you want proof of this check out my latest video, I hadn't played the Berserker at all in any of the Alphas/Betas, so I started it yesterday at level 0. Mech level does not determine power and while it might give you a slight edge there is no reason you can't outsmart/outplay someone in a higher level mecha.

I love my Berserker. I wouldn't change it for any other machine.
I chose this machine for the mobility, not the armor. I have 490 Max Armor.
I won't have to tank the damage I don't take, so I dodge. I dodge a lot.

I maxed out everything on each tree. Played about an hour with each one maxed.
Then I played about an hour with nothing. I noticed very little change if at all.
I am starting to think they might be a placebo.

I know that I'm a hell of a lot faster after getting some points in my tech tree.

I wish people will realize that the tech trees aren't finished yet and they purposely lowered values while they balance things internally. Trees are going to change and most of what you see now is merely placeholder.

When the trees ARE finished I guarantee there's going to be a horde of "OMFG OVERPOWERED WTF HIGHER LEVEL MECH OP FUUUUU QQQQQQQQQQ"

I personally think meteor is listening TOO much to the community. They're trying to please everyone which isn't possible and in doing so are only hurting their own game.

You can walk/run a whopping 1.8 meters/second faster and boost less than 2 meter/second faster from optimizations.

I wouldn't categorize that as "a hell of a lot".

I have faith that they take forum QQ in stride and know when it is/isnt justified. So far each iteration has shown a lot of improvement and when they have overnerfed there have been hotfixes soon after.

High levels do have somewhat of an impact. I know between my Defensive Rocketeer build and offensive build, I see a increase in damage.

A noticable increase in damage.

However, Player skill CAN and DOES overwhelm levels.

Also,  Light mechs are delcious cupcakes for me. I eat them, They have very little chance, reguardless of their level against mine. Maybe they're supposed to counter me, But unlike most Rocket men, I know how to dumbfire my stuff and still hit them.

Not including internals (because anyone can get those regardless of levels) you can gain a 2.48% boost in damage.
If you're using the AR, do you know how much of a difference 2.48% extra damage makes_ Jack diddly. That's what.
But let's say you're using the Rocketeer.
2.48% gives the Seeker an extra 1.43 damage.
2.48% gives the Hellfires an extra 5.3 damage.

You can increase your dps by 1% or 1.5% for secondaries.

Do you really qualify that as being a noticeable increase in damage_

The issue is that people don't know how to aim yet. so the faster A-Class mechs are winning because more ppl are not up to par on how to kill them yet because their aim is fuzzy bunny. This will change over time.
