Another idea would be allowing the player to pick up more sophistied and rich sets of voice messages in the cockpit. By a drop down list in the game settings with 3 options: Extended, normal and minimal. That way everybody would be happy and cool on this matter.

You know what could work_ Voice packs for sale. Tribes: Ascend did it, and it's obviously worked quite well as a way to monetize customization.

And Dota2 too. Adds lots of character to the game that can suit everyone's tastes. Everyone gets what they prefer

Male, female, robot male, female robot, and stewie (from family guy) packs would be as good idea as cool, IMHO.
