Keep practicing, I'm sure you'll end up liking drawing as opposed to dragging your mouse to draw.

as for mech(a)s, may i recomend bying a mech/robot artbook or two.
not only for insiration, but also for tutorials, tips and tricks. also get some references (photos) of real-life machinery to get a feel for metal and shapes.
looks promising, keep on drawing

Really nub question:
What programs would you recommend_
#12
Posted August 30 2011 - 04:25 PM
no but really the program isn't the issue its how u use it that defines ur art.
go sai or ps

I wasn't asking believing that simply changing what program I use would Significantly change my art. I'm simply curious about the preference of what others use.
Ho boy...Photoshop is so sophisticated for me though lol
Got any pro tips other then Google being my best friend lol_

EDIT: if photoshop is not ur liking then u can always give sai a try and its user friendly and easy to navigate.
its 5200 yen if u buy it which is equivalent to $50 usd

A test render
I'm sick of this piece and just want to get it done so I don't hav to look at it anymore and its gonna be one of the piece in my final reel.
this went good but had one big issue with the ears been sunken in the head wen its supposed to be coming out wards wen u look at orthographically so I gotta resculpt work that was lost. Body geo is almost done for the base.
One of my only 3d works that I'm actually sorta of proud of even tho I didn't get to get more work done on it.
