Hey there,

Any plans for one_ Should it be pre-filled with some stuff by the devs_ Should it be entirely fan made_

Come on, I won't believe this game won't need its own wiki :-)

If AG isn't able or willing to host a wiki for Hawken, I could set up and host a wiki for you guys if you want. (Why not use someplace like Wikia_ Because Wikia has ads, is restrictive, and all around sucks)

Edit: If AG wants to get involved with the wiki that'd be cool, but if not we should have one anyway.

That would be great! I have a hosting server rented out as well, but would have to check if they're OK with wiki-like sites, etc. (I don't think they would not be).

I think it could be a great place to start gathering all the info about the game's design, the universe and AG in general.

I have a VPS idling away of which I have no restrictions for it's usage (already hosting another wiki, actually was just working on that last night) and it could easily handle another site.

What categories would you like to see in the wiki_

Some ideas:
- Mechs
- Weapons
- Maps
- Subsystems (as in: not weapons, e.g. jump-jets)
- Universe
- Developers
- Game mechanics
- For Rookies (introduction materials for people new to Hawken)
- For Pro Pilots (tips and tricks for the best, by the best)
- Fan-stuff (to categorise all the different fan-made things)

A wiki would be good.

On the announcements there's information for concept art, few chronicles of the development and material for a good coverage. Adhesive may put their two cents in it but I think this is our initiative. We are helping them to put their product out there and a good wiki page may give them few tokens of popularity.


If you need anything PM me. I'll be here from time to time visiting the forums seeing what else is necessary. Besides you can link the forums and the discussions or resume the the suggested ideas there with a quick synopsis. Try to pick the best ones or representative from your suggestion master list.

I've been slacking a bit (writing copyright policies and disclaimers is not fun), but it's coming along. Had a friend whip up a logo and I'm working through my todo list right now. The wiki is at http://hawkenwiki.net/. I'll let you know when it actually goes live.

Edit: Adhesive Games, it would be extremely helpful to know one way or another if the wiki would be "official" or purely a community effort (makes it easier when writing about the wiki). I'm just going to assume it's a community thing for the time being though.
