Hello, I am Linxy. I myself enjoy Graphic Design and would LOVE for there to be a Graphic Design Forum on here.

Graphic Designer Rank -


To get the Graphic Designer Rank you must have been on the Hawken Forums for more than a month [This is so randoms can't come and just request because their good]

You must show 5 preview images of your work - I.E. They have to meet the standards of the other Graphic Designers, so they would make a private vote.

If you want to set an age that's by you.

[Also they should have DECENT grammar, atleast I hope they should]

Professional UI/graphic designer with a BFA from a renowned US design school here to chime in.

I honestly don't think there should be a dedicated graphic design forum here if I can be honest. The designer ranking system seems a bit contrived as well. There's really no need or community for an entire forum of the sort to thrive here on Hawken.

However, I would certainly like to see a creative/design general thread for the likes of typographers, photographers, motion graphics, digital image specialists, etcetera to gather. A dedicated thread could funnel all the creatives together for purposes such as networking, community pro bono work as well as collective work critiques. A sort of "roll call," if you would.

To augment your examples of graphic design above for the public, I'd like to provide an example of the Swiss Style (also known as International Style)for others who are unaware of the backbones of modern graphic design.

I'm pretty sure the Art & Media forum covers graphic design. I don't understand why there would be a need for a "Graphic Designer" rank on the Hawken Forums. It seems pretty clear they have their own dedicated staff that are more than capable of making their own forum designs.

I like graphic design as well, yet I think Art & Media satisfies my desires.
