Hi,

I’ve be playing this game for just over a month now and I’ve come down with the Hawken virus real bad.

I’ve been into mechs sine the Macross Saga and I used to scratch build models of mechs and other sci-fi stuff when I was a teen. Some of them looked a lot like the ones in Hawken.

I’ve been playing games since the Atari games console first came out, with varying degrease of success…..lol.

First online game I played was one of the old Delta Force games. I always preferred being a sniper in that game  I tried the other main online mech game but found it very boring.

I’m loving this game, I think it’s great, and I love the whole Hawken universe they’ve created. Having a back story behind the game is a really clever idea that gives more realism to it.

Hi SandSpider and welcome to Hawken, It's great to see more players from the UK on the scene :) I caught the Hawken virus real quick too and it sounds like we were brought up in the same decade matey. I remember my old man having a ZX81 and having to wait about 45 minutes for Frogger to load. :D Pong on the Atari was where it was at for me though. Anyways, like I said, welcome SandSpider and feel free to add me in game. I'll see you on Illal.

Thanks guys. Ahhhhh, Pong, those were the days. You don't get state of the art graphics like that any more .  I had a C64 with the little tape recorder thing to load games with. Yep, took forever...lol.

Hi to you in the tenth dimension, went there once, loved the beaches. I can safely say that I am hooked on Hawken, I'm lovin it. I actually had a dream last night about the next patch, it was awesome :D. I need to get out more .

You are not the only UK oldie here dude there's loads of us. We just hide away quietly because we are shy and have lovely manners. Just like Hugh Grant (when he's not honkybonking prostitutes and such)  :D

Thanks for the welcome everyone.

LOL, I will go forth and try to destroy!

By the way, one hundred is old, we are just in our prime :D .

You want me to share my dream, ok here it is........

It started with me logging into the web site and finding the notice about the new patch. I went to the forum to check it out and everyone was going crazy about it.

We had three new mechs, including two new C class, that looked completely different to the ones we have now.

There were a dozen new weapons, to mix and match. Everything had been re-balanced to the way it should be and all the bugs and glitches were gone.  We had new items and new internals as well.

There were twelve new maps including snow maps and night maps. We had night vision and thermal vision.

They had added destructible environments to all maps and they had made it possible to colour the whole mech with the little sliders. They’d added about twenty new camo’s as well.  Not only that, but they had made it possible to add our own custom graphics to our mechs.

There were two new game modes and some more stuff that I can't remember

Well, I think that’s about it……it was a nice dream.

Maybe someone should make up a UK Oldies Clan for us  .
