I think the ability to upload your own patch would be great but would need to be limited to 1 or 2 small spots on the mech so as not to detract from the visuals. I reckon it would be hard picking those spots to, as there isn't a lot of smooth real estate of a decent enough size for plastering easily viewable emblems.

the emblems would be hard to see imagion a light mec :} now spot one peace of art thats diffrent this the rest if u can u got hard core eyes and y aren't  u shooting y stop to smell the the roses so to speek make it a costom skin not just one small emblem on the sholder or something

It would be very interesting to see what player uploaded emblems would look like. I like the idea.

Onto assaults tv-screen (cause there's no running beta i couldn't get screenshot to photoshop it :3)

But good point, cause mechs has so much small detail and when you add a camo after that, no one could see the emblem.

The only issue I see with the upload your own is for vulgar reasons, if you're walking around with something profane on your back this does not set a good example if the game is to be taken seriously. I can see it would be fine for private servers. Or even a disable all button if the servers are dedicated. Hmm now that I think about it, two different emblems, clan tags and private. I.e your clan tag would be like a hawk (something customisable from ingame) and a private could be a .jpg. With again the disable button for both.

...and if any emblems or decals are offensive; they should be reported like anything else...

I've been wanting this (and suggesting it) since alpha, and it caused quite the debate between a few people, causing Meteor staff to step into the thread and tell everyone to stand down.  Shame we can't pull threads from alpha any longer, aside from the heated posts, there was some good info on how to do this and the potential issues with it.

This is exactly what I suggested as well, and I do hope it's implemented.

i think you could prevent many reports by giving some predefined parts of emblems, that you could arrange the way you want it. It would be the same system for clan and private (so like cod:bo)

well copied is better then made it worse your way

I would love emblems, but I fear they would end up mp purchase only just like the other visual stuff.

then at least they should get some basic emblem-parts to all and sell others for some MC... but it would be really nice not to go the "you pay for everything but gameplay"-path

YES.  I would totally have a Kisaragi emblem somewhere on my mech.  They were such total scumbags in the Armored Core series.

"Hey we need you to clear out a lab, it's full of bioweapon cages and machinery to make them but we totally didn't make the bioweapons because that would be illegal.  Here is money to shut up."
