How about a Challenge map, of a specified terrain (such as the surface, and interior) similar to Mars, as dipicted in the DooM maps_
And to up the ante, rotate them through the four earth seasons along with the actual Southern temperate zone hemisphere (just to put a doink in the digger fer ya)! Include physics effects that mud, ice, deep flooded areas all would have on a 30 ton mech, for instance. That ought keep the coders drooling and twitching in a corner for a few months!
