The smoke that pours out of the barrel when zoomed in makes it almost unusable.  When you zoom in the screen receives a slight white gamma boost already.  When you combine that with the giant flash from the rifle it's almost impossible to see!  If I disable all the special effects the game isn't as pretty.

I petition that the engineers should put some sort of muzzle flash suppression on that thing so I can see while I shoot!

Why are you using the SAR to begin with_ Its 100% inferior to the Hawkins and slug in every way.

It's true, the effects on it pretty much blind you.  It's not a good weapon to begin with though, so you aren't missing out on much.

I agree it may not be the best but it would still be nice to be able to fire it and see.  This isn't a debate about what is better.  I'm just suggesting that something be done about the visibility.

Funny, I was just using the reaper and noticed that I would start missing after the first couple shots. I didn't notice until I took a step back and was like wow I can't see for S***

AM-SAR really isn't worth using due to the smoke, on Shapshooter it's useless since SA-Hawkins is better anyways.

Get used to aiming at the big red box with AM-SAR on Reaper, at level 3 you can buy the Hawkins-RPR and forget about the smoke machine.
Running directly to/from sniper fire means you'll die tired. Taking cover gives (Ke-)Sabot time to reload.

Farmed my ass off for exp-HC yesterday just to realize that SA-Hawkins is better than AM-SAR. I was so excited when I know my SS only needs 19k exp more and to get AM-SAR... :angry:

Oh well maybe I'll just save a little bit more for a new 12k mech, earned 9k6 HC when I leveled up my SS from zero to level 5 70% and I still feel grateful to search before buying something :P

I'm running low everything (gotta get that FPS) and there's still a wall of smoke every time I fire. (You notice it more when scoped)

Tried it some last night.  Did not get any smoke from the weapon.  I have the game on max, including Physx.  May be a graphics card or driver issue.  Using a GTX Titan with latest drivers.  I will agree with others, however.  The SA Hawkins is better in every way, so there is no point in using the SAR on a SS.

They should just replace the SAR with the heat cannon and everyone would be happy.
