Hawken, being what it is, started out as a niche game, and will always be a niche game.  If the developers don't capitalize on that, it'll just end up being another bland "me too" game that copies just enough from successful games to be annoying while not appealing to enough people to be popular.  It's not CoD or BF, why would anyone play it "safe" with a niche game (seems to be the direction Hawken is headed)...

I really wish they'd go back and look at what they started out with, Hawken had fewer mechs, weapons, and maps but still managed to be an awesome game that looked awesome, played awesome, sounded awesome, and all while being far less "finished" than what Hawken is today and all while still being crippled by the terribad MM even back then.  It's like the developers have pulled a George Lucas on us by screaming, THAT OLD VERSION DIDN'T FIT MY VISION, I HAS MONEY NOW!!  MUST CHANGE!! and proceeded to hack away at the heart of what Hawken was.

I'm ranting... must stop.
