I run a community site for Hawken players to help organize games and keep people interested in playing. One of the big issues we have right now is that its very difficult to find players of equal skill level to group up with. Our current solution is to have people post their MMR in the mumble server as a comment, or on the website, but this is not dynamic, cant be verified and requires the players to continually update.

Another issue is trying to figure out what our team composition will be in competitive games. Right now every player has to list their mechs, what loadouts they have and what mechs they are best with every time we need to know, and this can make it difficult to plan a team strategy.

What I'd like to see is a player API similar to Steam that lets our website/mumble server request data about players directly from the Hawken servers, and then display that information for other players to see. MMR, If they are currently logged in, what server they are playing on, what mechs they are using/have in their hangar, pilot and mech stats, as well as cosmetics/cockpit configs. Players could make a "build" of their mech that they could share with a unique identifier key that would allow other people to copy it, from the weapons and skins to cockpit decorations and crosshairs. You could take this key, go to the market and get a price breakdown of what it would cost to own, with a buy now button or add to wish list (which your friends could also see/gift you).

This game is a lot of fun, but co-ordinating with friends  and organizing play is a real mess right now. The easier this becomes, the more the community will grow, which is good for everybody involved with Hawken.
