Grenadier_ More like Grena-WEIRD!!

But, onto the topic at hand! I actually really liked the Grenadier's turret. The recent ability change seems kinda odd. It made sense when you could park on a ridge somewhere, drop your wings, and have a good ol' time raining explosives on all who dared to pass, while still being a big (relative) softy. Now, while you still get your extra damage, and get to keep your mobility, you lose that defensive power. What do you folks think_ Do you like the turret, or the damage boost_ Why do you think it got changed_ Any input is appreciated.

The new ability has made the Grenadier very strong and versatile. Its far better than the old turret mode ability.

I definitely like the change. I find myself using the new ability immensely more than I did turret mode.

Before hand, it was more of a real gamble because many times, I'd hunker down into Turret mode, ready to lay down tons of explosive fire, but the enemy had either escaped or got really close to me. Due to the limited mobility, I had a really tough time defeating people in turret mode. It wasn't impossible, but it sure as hell wasn't rewarding to have the true value of my ability tied to a mostly useless mode.
Now, I can rain explosives on everybody without the hindrance of my mobility, which is the key to survival in this game.

Hush your face. I actually liked the ridiculous damage % boost the gen's turret mode offered.
Besides the gren's new ability doesn't have a special animation like the raider G2 or the incinerator. That makes its automatically lame

I mean, no offense, I don't like the thing myself. Too bulky and slow. I avoid most C classes due to that.
However, having an added difficulty of killing a grenadier is still a benefit. I don't like dominating people because they're mech is weak, I like dominating people because they just can't beat me (Not implying they're weak, just that I like to be ahead in skill... I sound fat headed now.)
My point is, I haven't faced many grenadiers in combat since the change (comp reasons), but the few rounds I have played, have been fantastically more involved, but let it be known I still hate technicians. (Especially with that stupid new weapon of theirs.)
Edit:
Okay, so I fought one.
I don't like it. It's mean, and it's angry, and I can't take it down in a stand up fight anymore.
P.S. That title though...

From an aesthetic standpoint, I loved turret mode Gren.

Indeed, I am a little slow on the draw, but I was on the can, and the thought just popped into my mind. Thought I'd share.

And you can still do the turret mode transformation stomp on the victory carousel, and every C class pilot knows this is the most important part of using turret mode.

It's refreshing that the player base fully comprehends the reasons the devs include visual morsels such as this for us...ones that can also be useful on the battlefield as well! How brilliantly creative!
