Hello
I'd love to see options to change, indicators of overheating/heat bars, between the cockpit and the crosshair view.

INTEL i5-4670K * ASUS Z87-A * GOODRAM DDR3 2x4GB * GIGABYTE GTX 760 OC rev 2.0 * X-Fi XTREME MUSIC * GRADO SR-60

SAMSUNG EVO 120GB * OCZ STEALTHXSTREAM 2 600W * Win 7 64
@ defekt : Mobility is King and burst damage is Queen. Checkmate.

I find the new heat indicators much more usable. The old ones were very difficult to watch in anything but an assault class, and even then you had to be actively paying attention to them.

As an Alpha 2 tester I do miss the old heat bar UI mechanic of having it implemented into the cockpit view, but the new design is nice too being you don't have to look away from the reticule as much. Which is a good thing because I feel like it caters to the competitive crowd a bit. I do agree with giving the player the option though ;)

i would also like the old heat bars back as an option at least. i like the idea of having to look around the cockpit, makes me feel like im in a mech!

I really hated the old heat bars, way to far away from the focus of attention during combat and they were very hard to notice how hot the guns were.

But, having the option for personal preference is always a good thing

The updated treatment of the heatometers is a huge improvement over the mech based alternative. Placing the heat indicators in the floating HUD helps emphasise their utility and removes the burden of having to focus your attention away from gameplay.

Yep, I also think that it works better now by keeping you well reported and improving your reaction time during the fight.

Ditto, I actually find the new heat bars very useful as the old ones were one of my main troubles with the HUD. They did look good, from an aesthetic point of view but weren't as functional.

The new ones are better by a long shot, as i can actually pay them attention during combat. The old ones where "prettier" but not very usefull

I think that the heat bars were better before. I actually feel like it's giving me too much to bother looking at now, it was better when they were in my peripherals. Now they sort of obstruct your view.

I liked the old ones more the visual way, and like the new ones as more usefull way. I defo want an option, and maybe also the option to have both at the same time.

...yes, yes, whatever.

At first I hated the old bars but now when they're gone I want them back :'I it was just so rewarding when I finally got the grasp how to use them. Plus it made the combat much more hectic when you had to sacrifice that splitsecond to look at them. I 'd love to see them back as optional feature pls

I bet the Devs are probably thinking we are all bipolars or something.

We stated several times during alpha 2 that the original heat bars where inadequate, where in a different location in each hud, where hard to see during combat, etc.. They changed them ....and now we want them back_

Probably the best solution is to have the Phyical Heat indicator always on and have the new Floating Heat Indicator as a toggle feature.

Then you can have one or both

Having heat bars in the HuD would make designing new cockpits less restrictive.
