What do you use Predator for_

I personally use Predator as an Assault/Assassination as I like to play aggressively, not just stand around and lay mines. Aggro Pred is much more effective as a team player because it can be used in a larger variety of roles (easier to contribute to your team). That's my opinion.

It was fun while it lasted.

Much more effective and fun then laying mines and waiting if you ask me.

Firing an uncharged salvo from the Breacher on someone when they don`t notice you and you almost instagib them is the best feeling ever.

The Predator fares better when retreating than when it is offensive.
Pilot Lieutenant MarksMech has slayed thousands of enemy mechs that way

You're either trolling or you don't know what the heck you're talking about.

Trying to add some humour and looks like it failed.
I meant, retreating Predators can lay traps which is pretty decent against chasing enemy mechs in tight spaces (+Height limitations). Even if your Pred is low on armor, it could still live with good dodge micro & mine trapping.

In all seriousness, these days I'm not good enough in the Pred at my MMR to do all-out assault anymore. I probably just need to practice it more, but in the meantime, I've been playing that recon role, strolling around the map, dropping radar scanners and scramblers, marking mechs and watching through walls.
Basically being an enormous dickbag of an inconvenience to the enemy team.

I'm sorry, but I don't like it when people say that retreating is even a thing anymore for Predators.
If a newbie comes by and fails to see the joke he'll try to retreat, get frustrated and ultimately quit playing Predator.

Mines are too easy to spot, and if the enemy pilot has half a brain he'll shoot the mines when you pass them.
It basicly makes your trap backfire.

In low MMR matches, sure.
Not trying to be rude, but please refrain from making comments that newbies could misinterpret about Predator.
I just want more people to get good at the class.
Every bit helps.

My bad then. Apologies to you and potential newbies who may have seen my previous post.
FIXED:
I use the Predator to flank enemies and plant mines (Since I only just got the mech) on potential moving spots for aggressive plays; or around corners so I can detonate them while remaining unseen.
In other cases, I just wait like a predator and strike when enemy units go missing from the battlefield action = Easy kills.
