So I'll post my rig below if it actually helps any, can also attack a dxdiag if anyone thinks it'll actually help:

- AMD Phenom II 965 running @ stock
- 4x2gb DDR2 Corsair Select 800mhz (I know, it's old and bad)
- Asus Direct CU 2 GTX580 @ stock
- Gigabyte GA-MA-770 r1.0 (hacked bios to allow AM3 CPU's to work)
- Earthwatts 650w PSU
- Xonar DG sound card
- 2tb SATA C: drive (Games are stored in a games folder)
- 2tb SATA secondary drive (5400rpm green drive)

Running on an OEM Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (SP1)
w/ Nvidia driver version 8.17.12.9610

My issue is thus:

I've tried installing the CB files to both my games folder and my Prog Files (x86) and both times the launcher has just hung at 25% CPU usage in the processes tab, then drops to 0 at some point and finally the process ends itself.

The launcher itself hasn't launched a GUI yet for me, the running process is the only indication I've had so far that it's working. Not even an error message

I've tried:

- Re-downloading the CB installer
- Installing to different places on my C: drive
- Running the launcher as admin
- Running in Windows 7 compatibility mode
- Running in Win XP (sp3) compatibility mode
- Running in Win Vista (sp2) compatibility mode
- Opening multiple instances
- Closing all apps down (barring driver apps for kb / mouse / etc)
- Searching the forums for similar issues to no avail.

Help me, hawken forums. You're my only hope!

And no, I don't have alpha installed :P

The only thing I could think of is someone mentioned earlier that it wasn't extracting all the files properly or something.

Maybe if they could put up a rar file of all the stuff we need, that'd handle the situation.

Else make a torrent of the full client or something.

I'm hitting this issue as well only mine launches the splash screen and just closes down 5 seconds later.

I hit this issue with the Alpha 2 when it was out. It's an issue where we are not able to connect to some server to download the list of files required to play the game.

I was able to get around it ONCE by plugging directly into my modem. The Hawken.exe file launched and connected to the required servers to download the files.

So far I am not able to recreate this workaround. I was hoping to see this issue fixed in the beta but now I've just become frustrated and will leave this be.

List of things I've done:
Uninstalled previous versions of Hawken
Disabled all firewalls and anti-virus software
Put my router AND modem on no firewalls and allowed my computer to access the whole internet via DMZ settings
Ran as administrator
Ran in compatibility mode (XP sp3, Vista)
Plugged only my computer into my modem (left my router out of my network setup)
Updated ALL drivers and bios for my comp

I'm on Verizon Fios with their modem (Westell UltraLine Series3) and a linksys WRT610N router. Hopefully all this information helps!

Let me know if anyone comes up with a workaround, but for now I'm fully done with Hawken.

Sounds like a slightly different issue, mine doesn't even show a splash-screen.

Literally nothing happens except a process starts, does nothing, then closes itself after 30 secs or so.

Mine is doing the same thing. Double click the launcher.. after a few seconds, a small splash screen pops up, but it is all white.. then, like others, it hangs there for a bit, then just closes (process does the same thing).

Tried un-reinstall, new download. Run as admin, comparability modes, added program to exception list for firewall. Tried disabling UPnP on router and computer..

Windows 7 64 bit. HP 8560w Nvidia 2000M, i7 2860QM @ 2.5, 8gb memory

I can now add that I updated my graphics drivers to the list of things that I did but didn't work.

Long shot, but was going to do it anyway in the near future for Planetside 2 optimisations *shrug*
