Erro Message, Need Help Pronto

Hey guys, I'll get strait to it. What does this error message mean_ I took me literally all of 2 days to end up downloading this, so I'd rather not follow its instructions on re-installing.

Your directx install appears to be missing files.  I'd start with reinstalling directx

(I don't mean to necro threads, I'm just almost always running behind.  My apologies)
