It has a giant TV in it's chest. You also only have one unbalanced jetport, and the machine would fall on it's face if left standing unattended.

Please fix it.

I can understand they want it to look boring and get people to want to buy nicer looking mech parts but it's kinda hard to take things seriously when all your opponents are walking TVs.

Your suspension of disbelief fuse is shorting out, because if you're worried about whether the mechs would be physically capable of what they're doing according to contemporary science, there're going to be a lot of surprises waiting for you, I think.

I agree they can fix the balance issue buy applying those bunny ear antennas to the back end or at least give me one of those old fashioned cable boxes that sit on top of the tv lol good ol days.

Maybe it just needs a cable running to the nearest wall where you spawned_ Although it could be sattelite, I would rather have numerous 'crossing cables' jokes.

Hawken mechs are not designed to look plausible.

They are made to look like barely funcional machines made from scavenged parts and other vehicles. The original SharpShooter was clearly built out of a tank turret, for example.

They are supposed to look grotesque in a cool way and Canti Sama here looks as grotesque as a mech can look.

With that said, i don't think realism has a place in hawken. Whining about how it couldn't possibly stand still or fly with an asymmetrical jet pack is small potatoes compared to other game 'features' like:

>Unlimited ammo

>Regenerating fuel

>Vital information is displayed in an chaotic fashion, scattered around a physical hud that changes from cockpit to cockpit,  while the virtual hud is more than capable of displaying information in a much more accessible and visually appealing manner

>Impossibly high dashing speed for machines this big and heavy

>Rear mounted, backwards facing Jets somehow able to propel mechs sideways, and even if they could, it doesn't cause the mech to spin on its axis, as it should.

>Forward Jet movement speed inexplicably linked to distance from the ground

>Mechs can regenerate damage by stepping on glowing, floating balls

>Mechs can fully repair themselves, somehow pulling spare parts and missing components from thin air

>Mechs have an infinite power supply

>Mech cockpits don't match their exterior

>...etc....

We've actually had a couple of 3D prints made here at the studio.  Not of Fred, but of another Medium class. To my surprise, they can stand upright just fine.

That is incredible amounts of messed up. I made myself sad because I laughed at it.

The second I opened Hawken and saw that mech in my garage I just thought "What in the name of mankind is this_ This thing is hideous!" After about 10 seconds of awkward staring I ended up coming to like it. It has a sort of Fallout 3 feel. This is a post apocalyptic sort of game. If someone managed to hollow out and shape a mech around a storage container I have a feeling it would certainly look like this.

Being a mech sculptor who does a lot of 3D-printed work, I'd love to see some of your models.

I miss alpha 2 assault I didnt feel like a microwave. I could breeze through the area with mobility and speed. I felt like an assault class and its mobility made up for the low armor. If ge made walking death machines this frame would be it. Beserker is now my new assault mech.

New special move idea: Spin cycle - puts user into direct line of fire of everything in a circular manner.

"Who needs cooling when you can have spin cycle as your special"

"I guess a new maytag is my alpha reward"

the old assault is replaced with the berserker class so if you want that back you can try it

Lot was changed from Alpha to Beta. Sorry you guys missed the fun of the assault mech in Alpha. It was the Berserker but you could outfit it with some different weapon loadouts. The CQC loadout with flak was truely OPed but fun. Berserker atm isn't bad but it isn't as tough as it used to be.

I'd suggest something else like maybe the other stock mech suit for assault from Alpha 2. It looked very plain and dull but not a walking TV. Yeah I get it, you want to make people buy something better but these teletubby mechs are insulting. They are not going to help sell the game. People will see screenshots of them and get turned off right away.

You need to offer these for sale.  Seriously, I'd buy a set.
