About 3 weeks ago I got a new headset just to have a working mic again.  When I first used it, people told me they could hear me.  Then I was away for a week on vacation.  Now that I'm back, it appears that no one can hear me.  I've tested the mic and it is working just fine outside of Hawken.  In the game, I have push-to-talk set. In the audio settings, I try 'Test' but I never hear anything.

Does voice chat work_  Or is it something in my Hawken installation_  Any pointers on how I can debug this_

Voice chat is sporadic at best. Some people have no problems, some have intermittent problems, others have no voice chat at all. I haven't been able to hear or speak to anyone over voice chat for about 4 months, but I have friends that tell me theirs works 90% of the time.

There are plans to fix and/or switch to a different system. It has nothing to do with your mic.

I'd suggest you get on TeamSpeak or Mumble with your friends and chat that way.

Every game I know of has problems with building in voice chat. Those apis probably kinda suck.

In fact, my mic works just fine in Steam, so I'm now 100% sure it isn't something on my end.

This is sad, because it did seem to work for a bit and as now stopped.

(after 15 years you'd think I wouldn't need TS or Ventrillo anymore!)

Its a widely known problem and the Devs are working on it.

In my experience, voice chat seems to work depending on which server you are on.
