But you still don't have the controllers, switches and all this!!! It would be a mix of real cockpit + augmented reality thanks to the oculus rift or something like this...

True true, but say you are wearing your 7.1 surround sound headhones, your Oculus Rift and have the controller, how the hell are you to see where the switches are to hit them etc_ I mean hell the oculus rift means you damn well memorize your controls A custom controller may make this hard, whilst most people are experienced with their keyboard to some extent.

It is possible if the oculus rift uses a transparent screen instead of the one is using right now... like some new cars, with the gauges "printed" on the screen, like this:

That'd be neat, but then your ability to focus on the game and not the background would be very small, not to mention that link is broken and just shows a rather disturbing image of Romney laughing, I think i am going to cry my self to sleep tonight.
