I was tearing my hair out with this error because other PCs in my home ran Hawken fine and my PC used to but then stopped.

One thing that will cause the 51C58D8A error with accompanying text "Online Service Unavailable" is if there are environment variables defined on your system for "HTTP_Proxy" (and maybe "HTTPS_proxy").

There are a number of other, more likely, solutions to this error having to do with the proxy settings in Internet Options or ports on your router, but this was what worked for me.

And the worst part is that, I think it was self-inflicted.  I think I created the environment variables.

Hawken does not work through proxies, to my knowledge. I did everything through TOR / Linux until I saw the Big Whoop Trailer of Hawken back in Fall 2012. Then I loaded Windows 7 up. We all deserve what we get, for using that, ya know....
and my copy of W7 Ult 64 is clean, btw.
