The TPG start date has been shifted to September 28th to provide players and teams adequate time to utilize this free agents section.
The TPG League provides players of all abilities a competitive Hawken venue. We'll be entering our second pre-season shortly, and we'd like all community members to consider joining. We're aware, of course, that there are many interested players who aren't currently on a competitive team. This post is for those “Free Agent” players.
From the perspective of someone looking to play competitive Hawken, there are two courses of action: join an existing team, or create a new one. We'll be covering both routes within this guide. First, however, I'd ask that any interested free agents post within this thread and provide the following information:
IGN (In-game name)
Region/Time Zone (bear in mind that TPG games are played on Central servers)
Availability
Mech Preferences
For example,
IGN: Nept, aka Nept the Magnificent, aka Leon's Boss
Region/Time Zone: CANADIA/PST
Availability: Most week nights; Sunday evening
Mech Preferences: Sharpshooter and Reaper
We'll be constructing a list of available free agents and distributing it amongst TPG team captains. All free agents are also strongly encouraged to attend community events like TAW's War Wednesdays, Weezl3's Fun Time Fridays, and Sunday Sunday Sunday Deathmatch.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Joining an Existing Team
- Create a post within this thread outlining your interest
- Attend War Wednesdays and/or Weezl3's Fun Fridays and/or Sunday Deathmatch.
- Speak up! Ask around and let people know that you're interested in joining a TPG team.
- Representatives from the various TPG teams often attend these events. Ask whether they have any openings.
- Join the Free Agents team on the TPG League site (password is "TPG"). We will attempt to both form teams and shift players toward existing teams from this roster.
- Read Daronicus's post about team creation and captaincy.
- Read Daronicus's detailed post about team registration.
- Create a post within this thread outlining your interest.
- Peruse this thread for available free agents, and talk to your friends.
- Attend War Wednesdays and/or Weezl3's Fun Fridays and/or Sunday Deathmatch.
- Again, speak up! Let people know that you're looking to recruit players for a TPG team.
- TPG will provide you a channel (and admin privileges to that channel) on its Ventrilo server. Once you have collected enough players for a team, message Craftydus for more information.
- Any newly-constructed teams have access to TPG's Team Guidance Program, which links teams with friendly top-tier players and teams from TPG's first season. In addition to helping your team train, they will answer any team management questions you might have.
