The mech Tesla is a mech wich uses Tesla coils to shock his victims.

Lore:
A very efficient nuclear fusion reactor has just been invented by Sentium, Sentium tried to put it in a mech, but that mech had a whole lot of spare power, so they put some tesla coils on there to use that spare power as a weapon. They found a Tesla very effective for crowd control. Using it`s large tesla coil, it zapped all enemies around it for tenths of meters.

Role: "Shocking Supressor"
Class: C
Armor: 820
Ground speed: 14 m/s
Acceleration: 29,5 m/s2
Air speed: 9,8 m/s
Thruster Vertical speed: 9 m/s
Fuel Tank capacity: 90 L
Fuel Regen: 10 L/s
Dodge delay: 1,4s
Radar range: 120 m
Overheat recovery time: 4,6s
EU capacity: 250

Weapons:
Primary: tesla coil:
  • 1 bolt of lightning per second.
  • little bit of aim assist.
  • chain lightning(if an enemy is hit and an enemy is near it, the enemy next to it will get 50% of the damage the first enemy gets, if an enemy is next to that enemy and it was not an enemy hit before, he will get 25% of the damage the first enemy gets and so on towards infinity).
  • deals 50 damage per hit on the first enemy.
Secondary: tesla coil:
  • 1 bolt of lightning per second.
  • little bit of aim assist.
  • chain lightning(if an enemy is hit and an enemy is near it, the enemy next to it will get 50% of the damage the first enemy gets, if an enemy is next to that enemy and it was not an enemy hit before, he will get 25% of the damage the first enemy gets and so on towards infinity).
  • deals 50 damage on first hit.
Secondary weapon ability: none

Starter item: Heat Charge.

Mech ability: Tesla shock:
The two large tesla coils are switched on, zapping all enemies within 25 m with chain lightning, doing 200 damage on the first hit.

Chain lightning in pseudocode:

Lightning is fast. Tesla cars are fast. So why is this suggested mech a C class_

A mech that utilizes electricity... I can already see how it might fit in HAWKEN. However, you need to weaponize science to a greater extent, as HAWKEN focuses on dystopian war and conflict. The power of science only serves as a front to power technology, not to be used directly.

Coils are too much of science for war implementation in terms of lore, so perhaps a greatly modified version of the Breacher that fires highspeed bolts of lightning_ Since Sentium has superior technology as compared to Prosk, the chassis of this mech should also be well defined, with meticulous precision.

How would this greatly modified version of the breacher work firing it_ would you need to charge it before you fire_

I didn't know that Sentium has superior technology, I always thought they where even thechnology wise.

Well honestly, it was a partial assumption, hinting off of the lore and in-game models. Sentium always seems to have the mechs that are precise, and doesn't seem to look like Prosk. An example would be the Reaper, as it seems Prosk uses recycled parts almost to achieve a chassis model.

The Breacher would probably be the ideal choice, since it's the only weapon that can penetrate mechs and shields directly. It is also high speed, and probably has the highest velocity rate at full hold.

Electricity, or lightning generated, can easily penetrate shields if they are sharp enough. Mechs are different though, as the electricity would presumably first fry all of the delicate circuitry that powers the mech. But since you're firing at high enough speed in terms of forward velocity, and physics states that the faster something is, the heavier (if I recall), it should be able to penetrate through a mech's chassy.

You're mixing up the mechanical world into the electrical one. Besides, the mass increase from a viewer's standpoint is not significant unless the object is accelerated to speeds close to the speed of light (I doubt that even in the Hawken universe that being possible on the mechs, even with Vitroleum, the wonder fuel, being an exotic source of energy). Also the whole increased speed converting to mass is related to the increased kinetic energy. An object that has a relativistic speed of 0.9c (90% of the speed of light) also has a roughly doubed amount of kinetic energy than its classical counterpart, and as you approach c the kinetic energy increases exponentially. An object going the speed of light would also have infinite kinetic energy, and thus "infinite mass".

To "hurl" electrical bolts you will want to create a potential difference and a conduit for it (a high-powered laser can do this by rapidly heating the gas around it and ionizing it, creating plasma, which acts as a conduit for electrons). The plasma itself could be dangerous, even if the mech is grounded as the current could be large enough and continuous to melt the armor or cause further damage due to the induced magnetic and electrical fields inside the mech. It would need a lot of energy though.

We don't know how exactly the Shield item in Hawken operates but I assume the following:
It's some sort of a magnetic dampener. Light metallic objects or objects otherwise affected by magnetic fields slow down/deflect strongly enough to become harmless to mechs but the charged Breacher shot apparently has enough kinetic energy through combined mass to pass through it. It also has some properties to deflect electromagnetic waves to some degree (ISM Disruptor doesn't affect enemies inside the sphere but this could be an ingame bug since it works the other way round... EMP gets through to disable the Shield's internal power source), and it blocks the Technician's healing torch beam (no idea what it could be, accelerated healing nanobots_ :D)

It's still a fictious ball of energy and particle effects whose properties are unknown (direction and strength of the magnetic field if there even is one) so anything goes here, since it's a game. The Shield could protect against the electrical bolts or not, as long as it makes sense gameplay-wise as the game historically hasn't followed realism. :P
